I am an engineer working in marketing, and I have been investing my own money in UK ISAs and low-cost index funds since 2018. CompoundWise started as a tool I built for myself: a clean, fast compound interest calculator that actually explained what the numbers meant.
I write the educational guides and build the calculators on this site. My background is in engineering rather than financial services, so I focus on what I can do well: getting the maths right, showing the real assumptions behind every projection, and explaining concepts in plain English. I am a hobby investor sharing what I have learned, not a financial adviser.
Every projection on CompoundWise is built on standard compound interest formulae and clearly labelled as an illustrative estimate, never a guarantee. Where I use historical returns, I cite the source. Where assumptions matter, I show them. The goal is to give you the tools and the data to make your own decisions, not to tell you what to do with your money.
